Transitioning from the consultant

Congratulations!  Success comes when the parent feels confident in moving forward without the consultant.  This phase is fluid, but there comes a time when it is clear that the consultant has transferred capabilities onto the parents.  And the beauty of this transfer, is it aligns with what we parents do by incrementally transferring capabilities onto our child so they too can become independent of us.

That said, the consultant can always be a source of support.  During this phase, the consultant follows the lead of the parent.  When the time comes to “part ways” we intuitively know, and it is a celebration because the parent is empowered.

What to expect during transition

    • You are analyzing video data with the sophistication of the consultant.
    • You are able to determine future objectives for your child and can design engagements to achieve mastery
    • You feel confident in taking the lead in transitioning from the consultant.
